Sheila McGurdDear Friends,
I was prescribed Lamisil AT 1% Cream for a fungal skin infection called athlete’s foot. I began experiencing burning and itching in my legs and feet, followed by a cracking and scaling sensation in my hands and feet. I experienced a rapid decrease in my tinea (jock itch) and a rapid increase in the size of my ringworm ( dhobie itch). I am in the early days of treatment, but have noticed improvement in the first week of treatment. I have not noticed any issues in my weakened immune system after four weeks of treatment. I am now quite severely impaired by the infection. I am very concerned about the situation, and would like to seek professional advice. The cream contains benzyl alcohol and sorbitol as preservatives, which may cause irritation to the skin, and may reduce the healing time. I am also concerned about the appearance of the burning and itching when I inhale the cream.
I have read about the potential side effects of the medication and am in the early stages of receiving treatment for athlete’s foot. I am also concerned about the healing time, and want to know how the cream will affect me.
